General Weather Situation over the Lower Mekong Basin (LMB)

General Condition:
On July 11 2016 at 07.00 am Local Cambodia Time (LCT), the latitude from 00N to 280N and the longitude from 900E to 1250E, the moderate Southwest monsoon prevails over Andaman Sea Gulf of Thailand, Thailand and Indochina Peninsular  (Figure 1).
During July 11-13, the moderate Southwest monsoon prevails over Andaman Sea Gulf of Thailand, Thailand and Indochina Peninsular. Heavy rain and very heavy rain will be likely in  the South and the Southeast of Myanmar, the South, the upper South,  the West Coast and the East of Thailand, the Southwest Coast, the North, the Northwest of Cambodia  while widely scattered rain in Lao PDR and Viet Nam during 11-13July.
The wind waves are expected about 1.5.-2.5 meters high in the Andaman Sea and about 1.0-2.0 meters high in the upper Gulf of Thailand during 11-13 June 2016.

Figure 2 of July 11 2016 at 06:00 am Local Cambodia Time (LCT) shows IR image which is observed moderate clouds with the form of Cirrostratus (Cs), Altostratus (As), Altocumulus (Ac) and Cumulonimbus over the Andaman Sea, the Gulf of Thailand and the South China Sea.

The  trough lies across Myanmar, Thailand, Lao PDR, Cambodia and Viet Nam. The Westerly winds prevail over Thailand and Indochina Peninsular at 01.00 am (LTC) on 11 July, 2016(Figure3)

The below show interactive weather forecast maps are produced from computer models on July, 11 2014.
During July 11-13 2016, heavy rain and very heavy rain will be likely in the West, the Southeast and the South of Myanmar, the South, the upper South, the West Coast and the East of Thailand, the Southwest Coastal areas of Cambodia while scattered rain in Lao PDR, the Lower Mekong Basin and Viet Nam (Figure 4).

Conclusion:   Normal Weather Situation
The moderate Southwest monsoon prevails over Andaman Sea Gulf of Thailand, Thailand and Indochina Peninsular.  The trough lies across Thailand, Lao PDR, Cambodia and Viet Nam. The West- Southwesterly winds prevail over Thailand and Indochina Peninsular at the height of 1.5km (850 hPa).
On July 11-13 2016, the strong Southwest monsoon prevails over Andaman Sea Gulf of Thailand, Thailand and Indochina Peninsular.  
As the result of these phenomena, it will bring heavy rain and very heavy rain will be likely in  the South and the Southeast of Myanmar, the South, the upper South,  the West Coast and the East of Thailand, the Southwest Coast, the North, the Northwest of Cambodia  while widely scattered rain in Lao PDR and Viet Nam during 11-13 July 2016.
The wind waves are expected about 2.0-2.5 meters high in the Andaman Sea and about 1.0.-2.0 meters high in the Gulf of Thailand during 11-13 July 2016.
